I’ve never been a fan of male cheerleaders.
Rick Pitino isn’t, either.
You’ve got to check out this video of a Louisville male cheerleader – who nearly cost the Cardinals a win over Pittsburgh at the Yum! Center.
Louisville’s Kyle Kuric hit what appeared to be the game-winner, a breakaway dunk with .5 seconds left that gave the Cardinals a five-point lead.
Then a portly male cheerleader decided to celebrate. He grabbed the ball and tossed in up in the air, obviously thinking (or not thinking) that the game was over.
Louisville was actually hit with a technical, Pittsburgh knocked down two free throws – and actually had a desperation heave at the buzzer.
Luckily for the now-unnamed cheerleader, the shot didn’t go in.
Regardless, my guess is his pom poms have been retired.
"The male cheerleader is coming to an end," Pitino said after the game. "It was good while it lasted. It was fun. Now we'll try another sport for him."
