The big news involved Matt Painter going back to his wife, I mean alma mater, after flirting with another girl, I mean Missouri.

Painter opted to ink a new eight-year deal to remain in West Lafayette with Purdue.

BUZZ-ING IN MARQUETTE

As we reported earlier a few days ago, Marquette coach Buzz Williams has signed an extension to remain at Marquette.

Williams, 38, has led the Golden Eagles to three consecutive NCAA tournament appearances since taking over for Tom Crean.

Williams had a buyout that was in excess of $3 million that would have made it difficult for him to go anywhere.

Sources said the new deal is in excess of $2 million per year.

SHYATT INTERVIEWING AT WYOMING

Multiple sources told FOXSports.com that Florida associate head coach Larry Shyatt is the front-runner for the Wyoming job – and met with school officials today.

Shyatt actually coached at the school for one season in 1997-98 and won 19 games before leaving for Clemson.

BOSTON COLLEGE STAR DECLARES

Boston College junior guard Reggie Jackson declared for the NBA Draft, but won’t hire an agent.

Jackson led the Eagles in scoring last season at 18.2 points and would be a huge loss for coach Steve Donahue if he winds up staying in the draft.

BC already loses four seniors: Joe Trapani, Corey Raji, Biko Paris and Josh Southern.

It would mean that walk-on Danny Rubin would be the leading returning scorer.
