Purdue associate head coach Paul Lusk is on the verge of being hired by Missouri State.

According to sources, an announcement could come as early on Friday night.

Lusk has been on the Boilermakers staff for the past seven years and has been Matt Painter’s associate head coach since 2008.

The Illinois native was also an assistant with Painter in the 2003-04 season at Southern Illinois – his alma mater - and would have been in the mix had Painter decided to take the Missouri job earlier this week.

Lusk has a masters degree from Missouri State.
