Sources: IPFW's Fife Headed to Michigan State; Jasick to Replace Fife
Dane Fife was rumored to be headed back to his alma mater a year ago to work with Tom Crean at Indiana. A few weeks ago it was believed IPFW’s head coach might be leaving to work for Matt Painter at Purdue.
Well, the 31-year-old is finally leaving for a high-level assistant position – with Michigan State’s Tom Izzo.
Sources told FOXSports.com that an official announcement will come on Wednesday afternoon – and also that IPFW associate head coach Tony Jasick will take the reigns.
Fife took over at IPFW at just 25 years old and took what is a difficult job and made the Mastodons competitive in the Summit League.
IPFW was 18-12 this past season and finished fourth in the league.
Jasick has been on Fife’s staff the past six years and prior to that was an assistant at Middle Tennessee State.
