Muhammad Ali Joins Mike Tyson As Second Boxer To Be Inducted Into The WWE Hall Of Fame
Frank Empson / The Tennessean / USA TODAY NETWORK

Muhammad Ali is the latest name to be announced for the WWE's Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

The ceremony is set to take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on March 5, the day before the first night of WrestleMania 40 gets underway at the Lincoln Financial Field.

As reported by Variety, Ali becomes the second boxer to make their way into the Hall of Fame following the induction of Mike Tyson back in 2012.

Whilst "Iron" Mike was inducted by D-Generation X, Ali will receive his place courtesy of his widow, Lonnie Ali.

Ali holds a special place in the history of the WWE thanks to the role he played at the very first Wrestlemania.

The 40th edition of "The Showcase Of The Immortals" is sure to reflect on history and what better way to do that than inducting one of the first major stars that was brought in to make that very first spectacle feel extra special.

Ali served as the special guest referee for the main event of the night back in 1985's Wrestlemania debut where Hulk Hogan and Mr. T went up against Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff in tag team action.

The boxing icon also went up against one of the most influential figures in the history of professional wrestling, Antonio Inoki, in their exhibition match that is still spoken about today as a landmark moment for combat sports.

Between his greatest of all time reputation in the ring and social activism, the mark Ali left on the world of professional wrestling was just one of the many legacies he left behind when passing away back in 2016 at the age of 74.

The U.S. Express, Bull Nakano and Paul Heyman are also currently announced to be in the Hall Of Fame Class for 2024.

The entire ceremony will be broadcasting live on Peacock or the WWE Network.
