We sadly waved goodbye to the 2023-24 NFL season on Sunday night, so we'll need to find somewhere else to get our betting fix. After a 3-2 week in our Look of the Day series, let's start off the new week with our favorite college basketball play for Monday's slate.
Monday, Feb. 12, 9 p.m. ET, ESPN
The Texas Tech Red Raiders host the Kansas Jayhawks on Monday night in a crucial game for standings in the Big 12. Texas Tech has lost three of its last four games to drop to 17-6, but this is a perfect bounce-back spot for Grant McCasland's squad.
The Red Raiders have been world-beaters at home all season, as they've gone 12-1 at United Supermarkets Arena. As for the Jayhawks, they're a much different team on the road than they are at home. Kansas has played only six true road games this year, and it's gone 2-4 against the spread in those contests.
The other issue for Kansas leading up to this game is injuries. Leading scorer Kevin McCullar Jr. didn't play in Saturday's win against Baylor, and he seems unlikely to return to the court two days later. Dajuan Harris Jr., the team's point guard and leading assist man, suffered an ankle injury against Baylor and also might not be available for Monday night's bout.
McCullar and Harris are key pieces to this Kansas team on both ends of the court, so the Jayhawks will have trouble running an efficient offense and keeping up the strong defense that's powered them to No. 4 in the country. This line is up to -2.5 and even -3 at other books, so we're grabbing the -2 now.
