Texas Tech star explains team's knack for comebacks after stunner over No. 11 Oklahoma

Throughout the season, No. 20 Texas Tech has shown tremendous resiliency and a knack for thrilling, come-from-behind victories. They continued the trend on Saturday, overcoming a nine-point deficit late en route to a stunning 85-84 win over No. 11 Oklahoma in Norman.

After the dramatic win, junior Chance McMillian explained why the Red Raiders are never truly out of a game after dropping a team-high 27 points off the bench.

"It's our togetherness," McMillian said via Texas Tech. "Off the court, we're like really close with each other. So, we're able to trust each other on the court, and whenever we're down, we don't panic at all. We just figure out a way."

McMillian's 24 points match a season and career high for the junior, who was also remarkably efficient, shooting 10-of-13 from the field while making six of eight attempts from beyond the arc.

It wasn't only McMillian's shot-making ability that guided the comeback, but his effort on the other end of the floor, too. Following the win, a jubilant Texas Tech head coach Grant McCasland said his defensive intensity gave them the "edge" down the stretch.

Trailing by one, 34-33, at the break, they eventually fell behind 68-59 near the midway point of the second half. However, they went on a run, outscoring OU 26-16 over the final seven minutes, including a clutch go-ahead three from McMillian with 1:27 remaining to put the Red Raiders up for good.

The victory moves Texas Tech to 16-3 overall and 5-1 in the Big Ten, which is good enough for first in the conference.

For the Red Raiders, it's the team's second consecutive come-from-behind win after overcoming a 17-point deficit to knock off No. 21 BYU on Jan. 20.
