Xavier Griffin wants to get back to Tuscaloosa after visiting the Crimson Tide over the weekend.

Griffin is a sophomore at Gainesville High School in Georgia, but he is a native of Huntsville, Alabama. He is rated as a four-star recruit and is projected to be one of the nation’s top 2026 prospects. He holds more than 15 college football offers with offers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida State and others.

The sophomore was on the campus of the University of Alabama Saturday, and he really enjoyed his time in Tuscaloosa.

“I loved it,”  Griffin told Touchdown Alabama “We had a really great time, and I can’t wait to come back.”

Griffin got to watch the Tide practice during his visit. He was impressed with the level of intensity displayed in Alabama’s latest spring practice session.

“Practice had a lot of high intensity,” Griffin said. “Players go at each other but in a good way. They all trying to push each other to be better.”

The Tide’s head coach Kalen DeBoer sat down with Griffin Saturday and impressed the four-star prospect.

“I feel like coach DeBoer is definitely coming in ready to continue that winning Alabama tradition,” said Griffin. “He is a really down to earth guy, and I felt a realness vibe with him.”

Griffin is a 6-foot-4 Edge with a quick twitch, who can play sideline to sideline. He feels his ability to get off blocks and close space are strengths of his game.
