Ainias Smith Sees 'A Lot of Touchdowns' For Evan Stewart at Oregon

During his time in College Station, Aggies wideout Ainias Smith wowed fans and coaches with his play. He became a legend on the field under the tutelage of coach Jimbo Fisher.

After the departure of Fisher near the end of last season, several players departed A&M through the transfer portal. One of the biggest names was former five-star prospect receiver Evan Stewart, who transferred to Oregon. And Smith said he thinks Stewart and him are very similar.

“Evan is one of a kind for sure,” Smith said. “Very fast, very athletic, has crazy routes, crazy hands. He’s quick off the ball.”

Stewart led the A&M in receiving yards in 2022 and Smith did so in 2023, and they both work hard for their accomplishments, putting in work before and after practice to maintain their form.

“You’re going to get you a leader,” Smith said. “He’s definitely somebody that’s ready for any challenge, going to compete, going to always try to be first and going to always try to do the extra. ... He always trying to get there early, always in the training room trying to take care of his body, always trying to stretch and do the little extra stuff.”

Stewart was ranked as the No. 8 player nationally and the No. 2 wideout in the country per On3 Industry Ranking. While at A&M, Stewart caught 91 balls for 1,163 yards and six touchdowns over 18 games in two seasons. He has the potential to increase his production in the offense at Oregon.

Smith thinks Stewart will have “a lot of touchdowns, for sure."
