Alabama Lands Former Michigan Wolverines Safety From The Transfer Portal
Matt Krohn-USA TODAY Sports

The Alabama Crimson Tide has been on a hot streak lately. New head coach Kalen DeBoer kept the team together after Nick Saban retired, and now he gets a late addition to the transfer portal class. Former Michigan safety Keon Sabb has committed to the program for the 2024 season.

Alabama Lands Safety Keon Sabb

It didn’t take long for Sabb to make his decision. After entering a few days ago, he quickly decided to take his talents to Tuscaloosa. The former top-100 recruit played in all 14 games for the Wolverines this past season. However, Michigan has a logjam at the safety position, and Sabb wanted guarantees he would start. The 6-foot-1, 208-pound safety lost his position coach, Jay Harbaugh, as well, which likely aided his decision to depart. The Crimson Tide has to be pleased to have this late addition to the program.

2024 Outlook

Anyone who thought the Crimson Tide were going to struggle in 2024, thanks to Saban’s departure, is going to be disappointed. With Jalen Milroe under center and a plethora of talent up and down the roster, this team is going to be just as formidable. DeBoer just led a team to the national championship and has had success during his coaching tenures. Don’t count out this team in 2024.

Alabama adds another high-quality piece to their already stacked team. Can they win the SEC and continue their domination?
