Florida coach Dan Mullen not disappointed by shaky performance vs. Samford

The Samford Bulldogs scored 42 points in the first half against the Florida Gators, the most any team has ever scored against the university in a half, but UF head coach Dan Mullen says the end result was a win and that's all that matters.

"Calling a win disappointing is disrespectful to the game and our players," Mullen told reporters, via Zach Goodall of Sports Illustrated.

Florida overcame a 42-35 deficit at halftime to win 70-52 with two unanswered touchdowns in the last 10 minutes of the game. While the Gators struggled to stop their FCS opponent, who entered the game as a five-touchdown underdog, Florida was still in the mood to celebrate the win in the locker room.

A week ago, Mullen fired Todd Grantham from his position as the team's defensive coordinator, along with offensive line coach John Hevesy. At halftime of Saturday's game, Mullen said that the Gators were making mistakes on defense that are "day one install stuff."
