Former four-star Washington signee commits to Kalen DeBoer at Alabama

Noah Carter, four-star edge-rusher from Peoria, Arizona, must feel strongly about Kalen DeBoer as a head coach.

Carter had signed a National Letter of Intent in December to play for DeBoer at Washington. When DeBoer was tabbed as Nick Saban's successor at Alabama, Cater was able to decommit out of that NLI. And now that DeBoer is settled in at Tuscaloosa, to no surprise, it seems as if Carter is going to join him.

The four-star pass-rusher visited Tuscaloosa this past weekend. Now he's committed to join the Crimson Tide.

“Coach DeBoer is one of the best coaches in the country, if not the best,” Carter had told On3 ahead of his visit to Alabama. “Everyone is going to kinda figure it out, but he’s just a down-to-earth guy. He knows and loves football just like the staff he has.”

It sounds as if Carter was sold before he visited Tuscaloosa and his relationship with DeBoer was a big reason why. That's been a trend over these past few days for the Tide. After the initial exodus of players leaving following Saban's retirement, DeBoer has been on a roll.

This is now the second big-time commitment he's secured in the past two days.

The rankings suggest Carter will be a great player for Alabama. He's ranked as the No. 22 edge recruit in the 2024 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
