Kentucky gets enormous win with latest commitment from elite recruit

He's a big commitment for the Kentucky Wildcats, literally checking in at 6-foot-5, 255 pounds as a senior in high school.

Edge recruit Brian Robinson is also a big commitment for Kentucky as far as rankings are concerned. He's the No. 7 EDGE in the 2024 class as well as a top-100 recruit nationally, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

For head coach Mark Stoops and his staff, Robinson's commitment to the program is a testament to their consistency. Kentucky was Robinson's first Power Five offer back in March 2022. The Wildcats stayed consistent with him ever since, despite offers and interest from the likes of Michigan, Tennessee, Georgia, Penn State and others.

"I chose the University of Kentucky for several reasons. They are a people first team — they really care about you, your family and what your vision for your future is. It feels like home every time I step on that campus and in some ways it is because so many of the guys down there grew up where I grew up and we really know and care about each other," Robinson told 247Sports regarding his commitment. "They also have a great program and a big vision for the future — and I love the guys that are there right now. They are playing some incredible football. It's no secret that I visited many times and I was fully invested in the recruitment process, right down to the final moments. They sprinted through that finish line with me."

Robinson, out of Westerville, Ohio, is now Kentucky football's 21st commitment for what's shaping up to be a strong recruiting class for Stoops and co. He's one of the highlights of the class alongside four-star defensive lineman Jerod Smith and four-star linebacker Elijah Groves.
