With Michigan football winning the national championship, the 2023 football season is officially over. This marks a new wave of offseason action as Wolverines come and go via the transfer portal. Last month, running back CJ Stokes announced that he would leave Michigan football after the season in search of a new school. Today, the Michigan football transfer loss announced his commitment to Charlotte.

Michigan football transfer loss CJ Stokes commits to Charlotte

In 2022, CJ Stokes joined Michigan as a 3-star recruit and saw game action in his freshman year. Stokes played in 11 games in 2022 and rushed for 273 yards on 55 carries with a touchdown.

Stokes served as a viable third-string option behind Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards but was moved down a crowded depth chart in 2023 with the additions of Kalel Mullings (position change), Benjamin Hall, and Cole Cabana.

After only seeing action in two games this season Stokes entered the transfer portal. Today, he announced his commitment to the Charlotte 49ers.

While he didn’t see as much action this season, Stokes showed lots of promise as a young running back. Best of luck to CJ Stokes as he continues his career in his new home with the Charlotte 49ers!
