Right now, the Wolverines only have one player in the transfer portal: running back CJ Stokes, a sophomore. That said, this week, the Michigan football transfer made a key announcement, stating that he will be staying with the team through the College Football Playoff, which will start with a Rose Bowl matchup against Alabama on January 1.
Michigan football is about to face Alabama in the Rose Bowl game for a shot at the national title game — it marks the Wolverines’ third straight College Football Playoff appearance, though the team remains winless in bowl games since Jim Harbaugh’s first season as head coach.
While CJ Stokes, a promising sophomore running back, remains in the transfer portal right now, he announced on Wednesday that he will remain a Wolverine through the College Football Playoff. He is not a stater for Michigan football, though every now and then, he comes in as a key depth piece; in fact, in 2022, Michigan football gave Stokes plenty of carries when Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards were both battling injuries late in the year.
I will be with the team for the CFP, although I will still remain in the portal.

Right now, Stokes has only announced one college transfer portal offer: from the Indiana Hoosiers. That said, seeing as Stokes has proven himself to be a very reliable threat, we are sure that more major offers will roll in once bowl season comes to an end.
#Michigan just had its first transfer portal loss of the cycle… and a fellow Big Ten school is already targeting him. #GoBlue
