When a freshman bursts onto the scene as Penn State football LB Abdul Carter did in 2022, it’s easy to forget the already-established star player in the linebacker room, Curtis Jacobs. There are quite a few players on the defensive side of the ball that NFL scouts will take a close look at throughout the 2023 season, such as Kalen King and Chop Robinson, but Curtis Jacobs is a player that needs to be shown an equal amount of respect before next years 2024 NFL Draft.
On January 10th, LB Curtis Jacobs announced on his social media pages that he would return to Penn State for his junior year and put his NFL dreams on hold for at least one more season. To have a player as talented as Jacobs back on the roster this fall is such a massive boost for defensive coordinator Manny Diaz and the rest of the Penn State football team.
Recently, Senior national college football reporter for On3 Matt Zenitz released his list of players that deserve more NFL Draft hype. Penn State linebacker Curtis Jacobs was part of this list and it’s understandably so.

Abdul Carter played so well last season that many forget that Jacobs put up similar numbers. He has put a lot of tape together for his future pro career, coming back to Penn State for the 2023 season Jacobs will showcase his leadership skills and sharpen the few flaws in his game.
Curtis Jacobs put up great numbers during the 2022 season. He accounted for 52 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks. He also had one interception which he returned for a touchdown against Michigan last year. The Penn State linebacker has put up consistent stats during both seasons as a starter. As the production continues to stack up, so will his leadership skills and his football IQ. The sky is the limit for Curtis Jacobs.
