Utah Star QB Cam Rising Announces Return For Seventh Season

Injuries have plagued Utah all season long, as they are without around a dozen or more players due to season-ending injuries.

One player that they were hoping would return, but was never cleared to play this season was starting quarterback Cam Rising. The sixth-year senior hurt his knee in last year's Rose Bowl game against Penn State, and was thought to have just torn an ACL. It was later revealed after weeks of the staff hinting that he'd return, that he blew out his entire knee.

On Sunday, the Utes' star and leader took to social media to reveal that he will be running it back for a final season.

Rising led Utah to two Pac-12 titles over the past two seasons, and will now look to lead Utah to their first-ever Big 12 title as this is the program's final season in the Pac-12.

While the Utes currently stand at 7-4 on the year, and have gotten quality showings out of both Bryson Barnes and Nate Johnson, the offense was not nearly as effective without Rising. The Utes rank No. 107 in passing offense and No. 83 in total offense without Rising.

His return allows for Kyle Whittingham to bolster the roster at other positions in the portal rather than having to worry about holding a quarterback battle.
