Liberty vs. Syracuse: With a second left in the game, Syracuse kicker Andre Szmyt nailed a 35-yard field goal to win the game for the Orange, 24-21 over Liberty. In a revenge game for a loss last season, Syracuse jumped out to a 14-0 lead but with the game tied at 21 late in the fourth quarter needed a forced fumble and recovery to set up the game-winning field goal. In his first career start, quarterback Garret Shrader was 6-15 for 77 yards throwing the football, while also running for 51 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Sea Tucker ran the ball 31 times for 168 yards and a touchdown, plus he also caught two passes for 27 yards. The Syracuse defense sacked Liberty quarterback Malik Willis six times in the game.
