Apple TV+ recently announced the development and production of a new golf-focused comedy show created, written, and executive-produced by Jason Keller. The 10-episode show will star Owen Wilson, who will also serve as an executive producer.

Keller has written "Mirror Mirror" (2012), "Escape Plan" (2013), and most recently, "Ferrari v Ford" (2019). Wilson has seen a recent resurgence in his career, drawing praise for his work on Disney's "Loki" and the 2023 remake of "Haunted Mansion."

The new series is currently untitled. Below is Apple TV+'s summary of the show:

The comedy follows Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After he gets fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store and his wife walks out on him, Pryce hedges his bets entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom.

This feels like the type of role Owen Wilson crushes. It's giving very strong vibes of John Beckwith from "Wedding Crashers" (2005) and Dupree from "You, Me, and Dupree" (2006). Hopefully, we don't have to wait too long to see it on the screen.
