Dave Bautista Interested in Returning to the MCU

Dave Bautista is currently on the press tour for his role in Dune: Part Two as Beast Rabban among an all-star cast led by Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides and Zendaya as Chani.

Bautista also joins fellow MCU castmate Josh Brolin, and in conversation with Gizmodo, Bautista told them that he "was pretty giddy getting to share scenes with him on this in this film", and he "[loved] that [their] characters just despise each other".

Gizmodo also asked Bautista about his future with the MCU, to which he seemed enthusiastic about returning.

"I still have a relationship with Marvel", he said. "They know that I would be up for a role. I love the universe—the superhero universe, I love it."

Bautista said that he "would answer the phone" if Marvel or DC hit him up, "and if the role makes sense, [he'd] be all over it."

The star previously appeared as Drax in Marvel's Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy films.

While he clearly states that his "journey with Drax is over", he "would like the opportunity to do a bigger role".

What kind of role? He details what his ideal would be: "Maybe a deeper role. I'd love to have the opportunity to play, like an ominous villain in the superhero universe."
