David Schwimmer's rep quickly shuts down Jennifer Aniston dating rumors

The One Where Our Dreams Die.

David Schwimmer's rep told The Sun and BuzzFeed News that there is "no truth" to any reports that the 54-year-old is dating his former Friends  costar and on-screen lover Jennifer Aniston.

Rumors began swirling Tuesday (Aug. 10):

According to those unnamed sources, the two began spending more and more time together after "reminiscing over the past had stirred up feelings for both of them and that chemistry they'd always had to bury was still there" once they filmed Friends: The Reunion in April.

Friends: The Reunion hit HBO Max on May 27, and the unscripted special brought all six Friends  core stars—Aniston, Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry—together for just the second time since the iconic 1990s sitcom wrapped its 10-season run in May 2004. It was the first time they gathered back at Stage 24.

During the reunion, Aniston and Schwimmer admitted to harboring crushes on each other during the first season of the series:

"At some point, we were both crushing hard on each other," Schwimmer said, in part, "but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship. And we never crossed that boundary. You know, we respected that."

Aniston added: "Honestly, I remember saying one time to David, 'It's gonna be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is gonna be on national television.' Sure enough, first time we kissed was in that coffee stop. So, we just channeled all our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel."

Ross and Rachel's relationship timeline is as complicated as they come. Ross had secretly loved Rachel since their childhood. It wasn't until the end of Season 1 that Chandler (Perry) accidentally told Rachel about Ross's feelings, but by the time Rachel was ready to tell him it was mutual, he returned from China with Julie (Lauren Tom).

In the second season, Ross breaks up with Julie for Rachel, and they enjoy a beautiful romance until Rachel's new job at Bloomingdale's caused a rift. Rachel can't handle all of Ross' jealousy and suggests they take a break. That same night, he sleeps with someone else—thus sparking the eternal "we were on a break" debate.

Eventually, they find their way back to each other. In Season 8, Rachel becomes pregnant with their daughter, Emma, despite the fact they weren't in a relationship, and by the series finale, they decide to officially be together forever.

Phew.

In real life, Aniston has been married to Brad Pitt (2000-05) and Justin Theroux (2015-17). The 52-year-old Emmy winner does not have any kids. She told People in June that marriage is "not on my radar," but she's "interested in finding a fantastic partner and just living an enjoyable life and having fun with one another."

Schwimmer, 54, shares a 10-year-old daughter named Cleo with his ex-wife of nearly seven years, Zoe Buckman. They split in 2017.
