Emily Blunt jokingly recalls her first kiss: 'It was a horror show'

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are one of Hollywood's most beloved power couples.

But long before Blunt met Krasinski, she waded into the choppy waters of romance just like the rest of us: angsty and clumsily.

"The one I really remember was my 13th birthday party because we played spin the bottle," the 38-year-old actress recounted on Jimmy Kimmel Live. "And I remember there were, like, 18 kids in the dining room, and I put up a sign on the door saying, 'Don't come in, Mum!' And she listened!"

Blunt continued:

"We played spin the bottle, and it was my first kiss. No, no, no. It was a horror show. His name was—is—Ashley Clark, and it was the '90s. Must have been the '90s. So, remember the curtains? When men had the curtains. It was a hairstyle. Parted in the middle and kind of floppy. ... So, Ashley Clark had great curtains. They were blond. He was very tall and very handsome. ... So, I spun the bottle. It landed on Ashley. I thought, 'Oh my God. This is it.'

"Now, I'd heard about the concept of French kissing, but I thought, 'Well, that sounds weird. Why would that be pleasurable or nice?' And it wasn't. It was not at all."

Poor Ashley.

Hopefully his love life turned around as successfully as Blunt's, and hopefully he still has nice hair.

Blunt and Krasinski married in July 2010—at freaking George Clooney's home in Lake Como, Italy—and have two daughters together. (Their eldest, Hazel, recently became suspicious that she has very famous parents.)

The duo star as an on-screen married couple in sci-fi thriller A Quiet Place, which debuted April 2018. The long-awaited sequel, A Quiet Place: Part II, will finally hit theaters tomorrow (May 28). Krasinski has directed and written both films.
