Four more years: Whoopi Goldberg extends 'The View' contract

Meghan McCain broke her contract early and signed off from "The View" in early August, but the daytime talk show doesn't need to worry about the same situation playing out with Whoopi Goldberg.

According to Deadline, Goldberg has agreed to a new multi-year deal to stay in her View co-host chair for at least four more years.

"Goldberg's deal comes as The View is 'taking a little time to fill the seat' left behind by Megan McCain and will instead welcome a line-up of conservative guest co-hosts in the coming months including Condoleezza Rice, Mia Love, Gretchen Carlson, and Alyssa Farah, among others," the outlet relayed.

The 65-year-old EGOT winner debuted on the show in 2007, a steady presence in a revolving door of co-hosts since Barbara Walters created "The View" in 1997. Goldberg's current co-hosts are Joy Behar, Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin.

The View's 25th season kicked off Sept. 7 with the women returning to their New York City studio for the first time since the pandemic struck the United States in full force in March 2020.
