Sylvester Stallone's 'Rocky IV' director's cut is coming in November

Sylvester Stallone is unlocking 40 minutes of never-before-seen footage from Rocky IV in "the ultimate director's cut" called Rocky vs. Drago, as relayed by Deadline's Anthony D'Alessandro on Thursday.

MGM dropped a three-minute trailer for the film, which is officially described as "an unforgettable, one-night only, Fathom in-theater event" set for Nov. 11:

"Stallone will broadcast live a Q&A in select Fathom locations nationwide along with a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the recut film," D'Alessandro added. "Tickets are on sale today and a complete list of theater locations are available on the Fathom Events website."

Stallone also made his own announcement:

Rocky IV premiered in 1985. The fourth installment in the wildly popular boxing franchise was directed and written by Stallone, who reprised his role of Rocky Balboa.

Earlier this month, Julien's Auctions revealed "Property From the Life and Career of Sylvester Stallone" will go up for auction beginning Dec. 5, including the three-time Oscar nominee's personal memorabilia from the Rocky franchise. Learn more here.
