After an album that didn't really move the needle, McGraw had his breakout success in 1994, and the rest is history.

It was an immediate hit with fans, peaking at #1 on the Billboard charts for six weeks, and earned the duo two Grammy nods and four wins at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 1998.

Get ready for a tearjerker: "Don't Take The Girl" is a tune that will definitely make you cry. Released in 1994 on McGraw's breakthrough album, it follows the story of a childhood love that starts off sweet, then veers quickly into sad territory. (Spoiler alert: there is at least a happy ending.)

Originally written by Diane Warren for pop singer Chynna Philips, McGraw and Hill definitely claimed the song as their own with a version that oozes the chemistry of a happy, passionate marriage.

"In my darkest hour, with my world filled with gloom, your sweet love saved me not a moment too soon." Aww.
