The most chaotic talk show interviews ever

If you know anything about Omarosa, you know she isn't one to mess with. She’s one of the most iconic villains reality TV has ever seen, and Wendy Williams got a taste of that on her show in the 2000s. As soon as Lady O hit the stage, the gloves were off. They went back and forth, insulting each other's looks, hair pieces, and careers.

Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live is a shady late-night talk show designed to create buzz and headlines. When he asked his guest, Tituss Burgess, also an openly gay man, about his relationship with Eddie Murphy, given his past controversial comments, Tituss was not here for it. Andy caught Tituss’ irritation and confronted him on camera, but it wasn’t the reaction Cohen expected. 

For those who don’t know, Omarosa began her stint on reality TV on Donald Trump’s The Apprentice. Their relationship evolved so much that she served as the Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liason while he was the President of the United States. However, their alliance ended when reports noted she was fired and physically removed from The White House. She later appeared alongside Savannah Guthrie on Today to promote her book, and it was anything but a peaceful sit-down.

Everybody knows Wendy Williams enjoyed gossiping about pop culture’s latest happenings during her show’s "Hot Topics" segment. That’s when Wendy spoke with her co-hosts (her studio audience) about what’s going on with Hollywood's elite. One day, she made an interesting comment about Keke Palmer following her issue with Trey Songz. When it was time for Palmer to guest star on Wendy, she wasted no time getting to business. “I would’ve loved to turn on your show and [see] you be a little more compassionate and less accusatory and ridiculing,” she told Wendy. 

Omarosa and Bethenny are two reality TV legends with big egos. During a conversation on Bethenny, Frankel’s daytime talk show, the two sparred back and forth about race in America, which ended in a quick bet and one of the ladies leaving the show $10,000 richer.

The Breakfast Club is known for being shady, but the shade went too far for singer and reality TV star K. Michelle. She immediately addressed her issues with host Angela Yee six minutes into a 34-minute interview in 2016 over underhanded comments about her album. “What you did was f––ked up. Next topic,” Michelle told the hosts once she was finished. 

Floyd Mayweather and Brian Kenny sparred back and forth in this 2009 interview over whether Mayweather still held the title of best fighter in the sport of boxing. “You called me to do the interview. I didn’t call you,” Floyd said. “You’re a man of many things, but you’re a master of nothing.”   

Mike Tyson ended his 1999 interview with a CNN anchor early after arguing over foul language in the program. “I’m talking to you the way I wanna talk to you,” Tyson said. “If you have a problem with it, turn off your station.” 

Most people remember this chaotic interview between LeBron James and a reporter following an NBA Finals game. The basketball great became so irritated with the same question he grabbed his bag, threw on his expensive shades, and headed for the door. “Be better tomorrow,” James told the reporter on his way out. 

Even if he was joking, Kevin Garnett telling Craig Sager to burn his clothes on national television will forever be etched into our memories. “I don’t care if it’s Versace … name brand … I don’t care. You take it, and you burn it,” Garnett said. “And the shoes, too. Just burn them.” 

Joan Rivers was an actress and comedian pop culture fans adored because of her tell-it-like-it-is personality and outlandish comments on shows like Fashion Police and In Bed with Joan. 

During a 2014 sit down with CNN, host Fredricka Whitfield challenged Joan about her “mean” fashion takes, and all hell broke loose. “It’s not mean,” she replied. “I tell the truth. I’m sure I say the same things that all of your viewers say to their friends sitting next to them on the couch.” After defending her reputation for the next two minutes, Joan stormed off the set, leaving the interviewer speechless. 

Migos were thick as thieves, and their showdown on the BET Awards pre-show proved exactly that. After an awkward interaction with interviewer and rapper Joe Budden, both parties seemed on high alert. Even someone from Migos’ entourage jumped in on the action.

This seasoned actress has had her share of run-ins with the law, and David Letterman appeared eager to remind her. While starring on his show in 2013, he made “joke” after “joke” about the singer’s stint in rehab. It even ended with a few tears running down Lohan's face.

Much like her interview with Dianne Sawyer, Whitney wouldn’t entertain any of Wendy’s foolish questions (even if they were what everybody else wanted to know). She tore into her the moment the call connected. “I don’t believe that I’ve ever met you in my entire career,” Wendy said to Whitney. “Ain’t that funny? You talk about me all [of] the time,” Houston replied. 

Listen, Wendy will always ask the challenging (and uncomfortable) questions. Some of her guests entertain them, and others flip the script. After asking Roseanne about her relationship with her ex-husband, Tom Arnold, things turned icy. “I don’t like talking about husbands. Right, Wendy?” she clapped back, following the years-long allegations of Wendy’s husband’s infidelity, which she later confirmed in her biopic and several interviews. 

Based on his show, Judge Mathis always seems cool, calm, and collected; however, that wasn’t the case during his chat with Wendy. After repeating rumors she heard around town about Mathis and his rumored secret lover, he hit back hard. “Now you and WBLS [are] about to be sued for defamation — you gon' make some stuff up that wasn’t even alleged,” he fired back. “That’s called defamation, Wendy!”  

Mariah Carey is the original queen of shade, and she’s given her fans some pretty memorable moments. Just like Whitney’s radio interview, Mariah had been waiting for her moment with Wendy forever. She even referenced it in her No. 1 song "Touch My Body."
