Motorsport has evolved with time. With the rise of electric vehicles worldwide, Formula E was established as an all-electric racing series a decade ago. Now, the Formula E world championship will finally race in the streets of Tokyo. This inaugural event had a famous guest in attendance, Fast and Furious icon Sung Kang .

The official Formula E Instagram account posted a video of Kang. The 51-year-old was delighted for Japan to finally have the Tokyo E-Prix. The clip showcased Sung Kang beside a 3rd gen Formula E car. The Fast and Furious star shared his views over the all-electric series’ entry to the Japanese capital.

The 51-year-old claimed that a race in Tokyo was the perfect partnership for Formula E. The American actor highlighted that the Japanese capital was perhaps the most iconic city when it came to postmodernism. Subsequently, it was a perfect fit for a postmodern sport like Formula E as it pushed the boundaries in the field of electric mobility.

I think it's the proper, like, the perfect combination of a postmodern city like Tokyo teaming up with Formula E postmodern Motorsport. Sung Kang said on Instagram

Moreover, Sung Kang reckoned that the backdrop of Tokyo would suit the all-electric series. As the Japanese capital has rapidly advanced in terms of technology with every aspect focusing on the future.

I think what better backdrop than Tokyo for Formula E to be at where everything is about the future. Kung stated

The American icon highlighted that every aspect of Japan, ranging from clothes, food and technology was focused on the future. This had led to the rise of advanced technology in every aspect of life in the Asian country. Sung Kang reckoned that the Japanese were pushing everything to the highest level.

I think that's why when you come to a small country like this you see them. everything here, the food, fashion, you know, technology. They're pushing everything to the highest level. Sung Kung continued

Moreover, Kang emphasized that Formula E had found the right match with its first-ever race in Tokyo. The 51-year-old reckoned that the Tokyo E-Prix would further push the all-electric world championship to push itself to the highest level. Certainly, Formula E cars would look right at home when they go wheel-to-wheel in the city.

And I think you know again, it's like a perfect partnership with Formula E because it's pushing everything to the highest level. Kung concluded

Formula E has high expectations for the Tokyo E-Prix. The race is also the home race for Nissan. As such, large crowds are expected to attend the inaugural race in the streets of the Japanese capital. However, it will be interesting to see if the home team could land a decent result in front of its fans this weekend.
