Will Forte, star of Coyote vs Acme, has broken the silence on the recently canned Warner Bros Pictures film.

The live-action Looney Tunes flick was shelved by the studio last year. They then tried to shop it around, but the asking price was too high, so they never found a new home.

Now, the film is expected to be left in limbo and has no plans to hit the big screen.

Cast members include John Cena, Lana Condor, Will Forte and P.J. Byrne in a story based on the magazine article by Ian Frazier.

Forte took to social media to share his thoughts on the film's unfortunate circumstances, saying:

To the Cast and Crew of Coyote Vs Acme --

I know that a lot of you haven't gotten a chance to see our movie. And sadly, it's looking like you never will.

When I first heard that our movie was getting "deleted," I hadn't seen it yet. So I was thinking what everyone else must have been thinking: this thing must be a hunk of junk.

But then I saw it.

And it's incredible.

Super funny throughout, visually stunning, sweet, sincere, and emotionally resonant in a very earned way. As the credits rolled, I just sat there thinking how lucky I was to be a part of something so special. That quickly turned into confusion and frustration. This was the movie they're not going to release?

Look, when it comes to Hollywood business stuff, I don't know sh*t. Even when a movie tests very well (like ours), there's no guarantee that it's gonna be a hit. And at the end of the day, the people who paid for this movie can obviously do whatever they want with it. It doesn't mean I have to like it (I f*****g hate it). Or agree with it. And it doesn't mean that this movie is anything less than magnificent.

You would be so proud of it -- a movie that should be seen, but won't. Please know that all the years and years of hard work, dedication and love that you put into this movie shows in every frame.

That's all folks,

Will Forte.

Coyote vs Acme is set in the ACME warehouse about the manufacturer of anything and everything used by the Looney Tunes characters.

Samy Burch, who received an Oscar nomination this year for her work on May December, wrote the screenplay with James Gunn and Jeremy Slater also credited for the story.

Dave Green, whose previous work includes Earth to Echo and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, directed the film.

Steven Price, who composed the score for the film, shared Forte's statement, agreeing that "it's a movie that should be seen."

Eric Bauza, who voices Wile E. Coyote in the film, also shared Forte's words, saying, "It was a pleasure working w/ such a Comedy Legend".

Others also voiced their frustration on the matter, saying, "There has got to be some legislation created to stop this" and echoing how "heartbreaking" the situation is.

As of right now, there are no plans to release Coyote vs Acme, and the future of the film seems to remain on the shelf.
