The Las Vegas Raiders are in need of depth at the guard position and will likely add one in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Considering there are several other areas that should be of priority in this draft, the guard addition could come at any point. One prospect the Raiders should consider is Christian Mahogany of Boston College, who likely will not be picked before Round 3.

Mahogany played in 12 games this past season, helping lead a Boston College offense that finished 14th in the nation in rushing at 198.8 rushing yards per game. He was named a first-team All-ACC honoree and Associated Press third-team All-American for his efforts. Mahogany also helped lead the Eagles to their only winning season in his five years with the program (three active).

Boston College finished the season with a 7-6 record, including a victory over Southern Methodist in the Fenway Bowl.

Pro Football Focus gave Mahogany an overall grade of 74.9, a run-blocking grade of 74.5, and a pass-blocking grade of 82.2 for his 2023 campaign.

Mahogany unfortunately missed the entire 2022 season due to injury. The season prior, he was named to the All-ACC Second Team and started in 11 contests. PFF gave Mahogany an overall grade of 82.7.

That followed Mahogany's first active season with the program in 2020 (he redshirted the 2019 season). He made 11 starts.

Mahogany did not show much versatility during his years at Boston College, having primarily played at just the guard positions. As far as skill goes, though, Mahogany is a well-balanced blocker and one who could be a solid backup or even a potential starter at some point for the Raiders if he can stay healthy.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
