Paris Saint-Germain winger Kylian Mbappé is on Real Madrid’s wishlist, and once the January transfer window opens, they’re likely to begin talks with his camp over a pre-contract.

However, with this saga, no one knows what will happen. Many believed the 24-year-old was out the door in 2022, but he extended. At the same time, those who cover Real Madrid reveal that PSG is pessimistic about a new contract.

The Spanish club wants to learn from the past. As a result, they might not put all their eggs in the Mbappé. OK Diario’s Ivan Martin (h/t Le10Sport) reveals that there are two options that Los Blancos could pursue if they fail again to land the PSG forward.

“If Mbappé doesn’t come, they will have to turn to another attacker,” Martin said. “This is my opinion, but I would like Julián Álvarez. Osimhen was followed, but it will be difficult to get him out of Naples.”

Furthermore, Real Madrid might not only have backup plans but also want to approach Mbappé with a different mentality. A recent report revealed that the La Liga side wants guarantees from the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner’s camp.

Real Madrid is taking a different approach. Now, will it work out?
