Former Mets Catcher Apparently Despises Team

There are different owners, different people in charge of the front office, and different coaches working with the players, but that apparently hasn't changed how one former New York Mets player feels about his past team.

In 2012, the Mets acquired Travis d'Arnaud and Noah Syndergaard, among two others, in a deal that sent pitcher R.A. Dickey and two additional players to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Syndergaard and d'Arnaud were two integral parts on the 2015 World Series team.

New York's former catcher battled injuries throughout that season, but had a solid year, finishing with a slash line of .268/.340/.485, 12 home runs and 41 RBI across 67 games.

He appeared in all 14 playoff games behind the plate and looked like an integral part of the roster moving forward.

However, d'Arnaud continued to battle injuries and missed almost all of the 2018 season after getting Tommy John surgery.

He was tendered a contract for 2019, but was not given much of a chance, playing in 10 games and being designated for assignment, before ultimately getting released, after slashing .087/.160/.087 in 25 plate appearances.

The catcher seemingly hasn't forgiven the Mets for being cut.

He was asked which team he gets most angry when playing against and delivered a sharp answer.

"The New York Mets."
