Madison Bumgarner continues to struggle with D-backs
Rhona Wise-USA TODAY Sports

It is more than safe to say that the four-time All Star and three-time World Series champion Madison Bumgarner is no longer the same pitcher taking the mound anymore.

After a miserable outing against the Marlins on Friday, Bumgarner’s record with the Diamondbacks has fallen to a less than ideal 15-31.

Through three starts this season, Bumgarner has not gone longer than five innings and has a 7.90 ERA.

While the 33-year-old still has one more year left on his contract before retirement, it is unsure if the Diamondbacks can afford to have him on the roster. With a promising season ahead and a roster full of young prospects, Arizona cannot have that liability in the starting rotation.

And fans have just about had enough of the lousy performance.

While manager Torey Luvullo has stated that Bumgarner will remain in the rotation, one has to wonder how long they will keep the veteran on the mound before deciding enough is enough.
