Madison Bumgarner Got The Proper Treatment From Giants Fans

Monday night was a rough night for Madison Bumgarner.

In his return to Oracle Park, a place full of fond memories for the left-hander, he gave up six runs to the San Francisco Giants as his Arizona Diamondbacks dropped the opener of their four-game set, which saddles Bumgarner with a 6-12 record to date and a 4.37 ERA.

But when Bumgarner was pulled in the bottom of the sixth inning, the fans in San Francisco made sure to show their appreciation for Bumgarner and gave their former ace and postseason hero a warm hand as he walked off the mound and back into the dugout of the Diamondbacks.

Giants Fans Show Mad Bum Some Love

Giants fans certainly haven’t forgotten what Bumgarner did for them for so many years.

He was part of the Giants’ three World Series championship teams in 2010, 2012, and 2014.

By 2014, he had emerged as their ace and put on a spectacular show in the postseason, shutting out the Pittsburgh Pirates in the NL Wild Card Game and dominating the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals on his way to earning NLCS and World Series MVP honors.

Bumgarner clearly meant a lot to the Giants and the fans in San Francisco.

It’s obvious that they still hold their former ace in high regard.

He was a key factor in the Giants’ run of success a decade ago and his contributions won’t be forgotten.

He meant everything to the organization and the fans and it’s nice to see the fans in San Francisco give him a warm hand.

He may not be a Giant anymore, but he’ll forever be a Giant in their hearts.

His competitive spirit and postseason dominance will live on in San Francisco.
