Scherzer is very excited over the Rangers advancing to the ALCS

Max Scherzer was not able to pitch for the Texas Rangers during the ALDS. But that did not stop him from celebrating like a madman on Tuesday.

Scherzer was left off the Rangers’ ALDS roster due to a lingering shoulder injury. But Texas apparently did not need the three-time Cy Young to complete a series sweep of the Baltimore Orioles to secure their spot in the ALCS.

Texas scored six runs in the first two innings against Orioles starter Dean Kremer on Tuesday night. Rangers’ Game 3 starter Nathan Eovaldi allowed just one run across seven innings in a dominant 7-1 win.

Scherzer made sure to join the rest of the team as they celebrated the series victory in the locker room. It didn’t take long before a clip of Scherzer pouring champagne all over catcher Austin Hedges went viral on social media.

Scherzer is known as one of the most passionate players in the majors. Mad Max has never been one to shy away from a hearty celebration.

Scherzer has previously hinted at his possible return later in the postseason. The All-Star pitcher considers himself “in a pretty good spot” when asked about his availability for the ALCS after the win.

The Rangers will face the winner of the ALDS series between Houston Astros and Minnesota Twins. Expect an even wilder celebration from Scherzer if the Rangers manage to secure the AL pennant.
