Aric Almirola nearly bowls perfect game after tip from pro

This week, Aric Almirola nearly pulled off a perfect game of bowling while participating in a Go Bowling even with PBA pros. After firing some balls down the lane as hard as he could, Kyle Troup gave Almirola some advice. It changed everything. This NASCAR driver takes his sponsors very seriously.

Aric Almirola might have found himself his second profession in sports. Troup helped him learn how to “spin” the bowling balls as he rolled them. So, he started up a new game and gave it a go.

Strike. Strike. Another strike. It just kept coming. If you don’t believe me, check out his tweet below. Almirola had a movie moment with everyone watching him throw strike after strike until he got to the final frame.

“Holy crap I am one strike away from bowling a 300. It’s so quiet by now you could hear a mouse fart. Everyone has their phones out and is videoing my last bowl. It spins down the lane, gets super close to the edge of the gutter and hooks right into the pocket. BOOM! 9 pins explode and the pesky 10 pin sits there standing proud. I bowled a 299 my first time bowling ‘properly.'”

That’s a tough way to lose a perfect game. However, it also sounds like one of the coolest sports moments we’ll never get to see. Kyle Troup is apparently the greatest bowling coach ever.

There is a lot of speculation about what Almirola is going to do in 2024. Well, he might just pick up a ball and join the PBA Tour. At this point, why not?

What is Aric Almirola doing in 2024?

As for Almirola and his NASCAR plans, no one knows what he plans to do. He can return to Stewart-Haas Racing in the No. 10 car. Or, he might call it a career and go off into the sunset with Kevin Harvick after Phoenix this year.

There are even rumors that he might just race the Xfinity Series schedule. That would likely mean Cole Custer coming up to the Cup Series again to take that 10 car and then Almirola would fill the No. 00 in the Xfinity Series. I’m not sure I buy all of that. Then again, why not?

Right now, Almirola is enjoying the end of the 2023 season. He won the pole award at Talladega. He’s not in the playoffs, but has had speed at times. SHR as a whole has not had a great season, but Almirola is arguably their second-strongest driver.
