Bulls' Billy Donovan Provides Update on Kentucky Opening

Multiple reports in recent days tied Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan to the University of Kentucky opening in the wake of John Calipari's departure for Arkansas. There was substantial buzz about Donovan potentially returning to the college game, especially after Dan Hurley and UConn became the first program to repeat NCAA championships since Donovan did it with Joakim Noah and the Florida Gators in 2006 and 2007.

However, Donovan threw cold water on the speculation before the Bulls hosted the New York Knicks on Tuesday.

"My total commitment and focus is here," Donovan said.

That's a defiant "no" that should resonate with Bulls fans and the rest of the NBA. Even for a premium college job like Kentucky, Donovan is committed to the Bulls and the NBA for the foreseeable future.

With Donovan seemingly here to stay, Bulls fans can only hope Arturas Karnisovas changes his tune on "continuity" this offseason. If the Bulls hope to be truly competitive, Karnisovas and Co. need to make notable roster moves instead of running it back with the same group. Donovan can only do so much with the roster as currently constructed, so the Bulls must change course to see if different results are possible.
