Celtics Reportedly Agree to Two-Way Deal with Drew Peterson

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, one day after waiving forward Nathan Knight, the Boston Celtics have agreed to a deal with Drew Peterson to fill their newly created two-way vacancy.

Doing so in advance of next week's G League Showcase in Orlando reflects how the franchise feels about the opportunity to work with Peterson.

The 24-year-old six-foot-nine forward started his collegiate career at Rice before transferring to USC, where he earned a spot on the first-team All-Pac 12 Conference as a senior.

He played in four Summer League games with the Miami Heat, starting in each appearance. He produced ten points per contest and buried 47.1 percent of his shots from beyond the arc.

That earned the Illinois native a deal to come to training camp with the organization. In his lone preseason appearance with the Heat, he registered two points, five rebounds, and an assist in 20:59 minutes.  

In 13 games with Sioux Falls Skyforce, Miami's G League affiliate, Peterson averaged 15.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. He also shot 52.8 percent from the field and drilled 40.7 percent of his 4.5 threes.
