Former No. 2 overall pick pokes fun at Bucks fans after Celtics acquire Jrue Holiday

The Boston Celtics have acquired Jrue Holiday from the Portland Trail Blazers . The All-Star guard was originally part of the three-team deal that sent Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks. Holiday joining Boston is a significant blow to Milwaukee's chances of winning an NBA championship in the upcoming season. Holiday ensures the Celtics have four All-Stars in their starting five and an elite eight-man rotation.

Shortly after the trade was announced, former Celtics wing Evan Turner posted a message for Bucks fans. Turner stated how Holiday joining Boston was like Milwaukee "getting shot with [its] own gun."

Turner spent two seasons with the Celtics between 2014 and 2016. The veteran wing also spent a year as an assistant coach with the organization shortly after his retirement. Since then, Turner has been vocal about his love for the Celtics and is regularly seen posting his thoughts about the franchise. The acquisition of Holiday is no different.

Holiday's addition ensures the Celtics have an elite point-of-attack defender in their starting lineup. The franchise traded former Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart as part of the deal to acquire Kristaps Porzingis in June. However, Holiday's upside on the offensive side of the floor provides the Celtics with somewhat of an upgrade.

Furthermore, Boston has removed two injury-prone players from their roster. Malcolm Brogdon and Robert Williams have struggled to remain healthy throughout their careers. Holiday, on the other hand, has been consistently available since entering the NBA. Brad Stevens' decision to acquire the former NBA champion signals a change in roster construction.

Previously, Boston has been loyal to their homegrown talents. Yet, this summer, Smart, Grant Williams and Robert Williams have all been moved-on-from in favor of proven star-level talent. The Celtics will need to resolve a lack of front-court depth before the new season begins, though.
