LeBron James, JJ Redick Host Keith Dambrot on ‘Mind the Game’ Podcast
Dylan Widger-USA TODAY Sports

Keith Dambrot recently joined the NBA’s LeBron James and JJ Redick on the pair’s “Mind the Game” podcast presented by Uninterrupted. The trio talked X’s and O’s, discussed coaching strategies used by Dambrot (and Redick for his son’s team), and much more.

Dambrot joins the show at the 34:39 mark, and the three talk hoops for more than 20 minutes.

To close out the show, Redick asked Dambrot about what he will miss the most in retirement, when he is away from the game.

“I Just think the effect you have on people. One fo the things I always tried to teach LeBron was, you’re going to hit some rough moments, but you’ve got to battle through. I think that’s the biggest thing. These young people need advice as to how to handle adversity, because what happens a lot of times is they get bailed out of adversity now. Nobody really teaches them what to do when they hit it. Because we’ve all been there, right? We’ve all  been in some tough situations. Just when you think things are going great, something happens. If you don’t know how to handle it, it’s really difficult.”

The show has been an instant success since its recent launch in terms of viewership, and the comment section underneath this episode – which already has more than 500,000 views on YouTube – was overwhelmingly positive. Check out some of the positive comments toward Dambrot, James, and Redick from the video.

“Keith was awesome. This podcast continues to change how I watch the sport, man it is special.

“I’d like to see coach back on the podcast. I know he’s newly retired but he’s so well spoken, clear thinking, and efficient with his words. I could listen to all three talk for hours and hours about sets.

“Teach people how to battle through adversity instead of bailing them out” Coach, what powerful advice!”
