NBA Announces Punishment for Warriors Player
© John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

The NBA has been punishing players for flopping violations this season, and Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody is one of the most recent players to be hit with a flopping fine. The NBA announced over the weekend that Moody was fined $2,000 for a flop in Saturday afternoon's loss to the LA Clippers.

Moody's flop occurred with 5:44 left in the 4th quarter when he attempted to draw a foul on his three point attempt. The NBA determined that Moody flopped on that play, and fined him $2,000 for it.

The league has been attempting to crack down on flops this season, with these fines being handed out regularly, and technical fouls being handed out during games for flopping violations that the officials recognize in real time. Looking to reduce the amount of flopping that occurs on a game to game basis, the league has placed a much bigger emphasis on it this season than in previous years.

Moody missed the three point attempt the league determined he flopped on, and the Warriors would go on to lose that game after leading by as many as 22 points. It was another disappointing loss for a Warriors team that has been stacking such losses this season, but they will look the regroup for their next game after a few much needed days off.
