NBA Props for Friday Jan. 19: Beal is the real deal

Aaron Nesmith did not play last night as Indiana got the upset win against Sacramento. That robbed us of a play. Also, from that game, I will never understand how someone can play 32 minutes in an NBA game and be 7 feet tall and only grab two rebounds. That is what Myles Turner did yesterday, making Keegan Murray's better-than-expected nine rebounds not enough to bridge the gap. on that combined rebounds prop. Oh well.

On the positive side, the two plays in the Bulls-Raptors game won thanks to Scottie Barnes and DeMar DeRozan having strong scoring games. As a result, we were 2-1 and added some profit.

Tonight we have seven games on the schedule. A nice group to pull from before we hit the NFL hard over the weekend.

NBA Props for Friday Jan. 19

Keldon Johnson Over 18.5 Points (+140) Alt Line

This bet and the one below are going to have a very similar rationale. San Antonio is at Charlotte tonight and the Hornets are the worst team in the league defensively. San Antonio is actually the fastest-paced team in the league so there will be lots of chances for Johnson to get more than his regular numbers tonight, especially because ...

Devin Vassell Over 21.5 Points (+130) Alt Line

Victor Wembanyama is being rested this evening. Vassell and Johnson are the second and third leading scorers on the team this year behind the rookie and I like these bets individually, but also as a portfolio. These may be alt lines but I find it very hard to envision both scorers being held in check by the worst defense in the league. If we get one of two we are profitable, get both and we are laughing.

Jonas Valanciunas Double-Double +195

I think we are going to get a very fun game between Phoenix and New Orleans tonight. JV is not the headliner for the Pelicans, but he remains very productive so I think this is worth a shot. Also, three of the last four times he has squared off with Jusuf Nurkic, the Suns' center, he posted a double-double too. I think a lot of players are going to be good over for overs in this one.

Bradley Beal Over 20.5 Points (+135) Alt Line

Per the above, I like a lot of production across both lineups tonight in the Big Easy. Beal has had my attention lately and this bet really caught my eye with the pricing. 20+ points is priced at +115 so for just one more point we are getting a significant increase in payout. Beal has scored at least 21 points in six of his last nine games too. Taking advantage of being third on the defense's list of priorities at times.
