New York Knicks Reportedly Sign Former NBA 1st-Round Pick
USA TODAY Sports

Dylan Windler is coming off a season where he appeared in three regular-season games for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In addition to his time in the NBA, Windler played in the G League and averaged 12.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest while shooting 52.3% from the field and 40.7% from the three-point range in 11 regular season games (he also appeared in one G League playoff game).

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the former Belmont star will sign a two-way contract with the New York Knicks.

Via Wojnarowski: "Free agent G/F Dylan Windler has agreed on a two-way contract with the New York Knicks, agents Andy Shiffman and Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports tell ESPN. Windler was the 26th overall pick to Cleveland in the 2019 NBA Draft."

Windler was initially the 26th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and has spent his entire three-year career with Cleveland.

His career averages are 3.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 41.6% from the field and 32.2% from the three-point range in 84 regular season games.

Since Windler is only 26, this could be a good signing for the Knicks.

Wojnarowski reported that the deal is for a two-contract, so he can continue to develop in the G League while also getting time in the NBA.

As for the Knicks, they are coming off a year where they were the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference and beat the Cavs in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

However, they lost to the Miami Heat in the second round.
