Report: Kings Acquire Promising Young Big Man From Clippers
Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers gave the NBA fans what they wanted with a blockbuster trade. Ten-time All-Star G James Harden is the newest member of the Clippers after forcing his way out of Philadelphia.

The Sacramento Kings sneakily got involved with the trade drama, as Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports the Kings are acquiring Filip Petrusev and cash considerations from the Clippers after he was a part of the Harden deal.

Petrusev, 23, was the 50th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft by the 76ers but has continued to play in Europe since. The 6'11" Serbian played two seasons as a Gonzaga Bulldog, with an impressive sophomore season averaging 17.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, earning West Coast Conference Player of the Year honors.

Petrusev followed up his two-year collegiate career with three impressive seasons overseas, including two years playing in the EuroLeague.

Pestrusev joins C JaVale McGee and C Alex Len as big man backups to All-Star C Domantas Sabonis , as Kings fans hope the 6'11" big man is capable of competing for minutes off the bench.

The Kings had an open roster spot, bringing in the 23-year-old big man without sacrificing anything. Sacramento also receives cash in the deal, as even if Petrusev does not stay on the roster long-term, the Kings made a wise trade.
