Robert Covington Reacts to Being Traded to 76ers For James Harden
USA TODAY Sports

It may have taken months but the LA Clippers have finally reportedly trade for James Harden. Caught in the crossfire of it was their current starting forward, Robert Covington. Oddly enough for Covington, it's a return to the team he spent most of his career on - the Philadelphia 76ers.

Covington went on Instagram to show his reaction to the news, and for him, it's a moment to return to "where it began."

If there was one player on the LA Clippers who didn't quite get a fair shake on the LA Clippers, it was Robert Covington. He re-signed with the team in 2022, only to be played in 48 games while being healthy the following season. There never quite was a reason for why Covington didn't play, despite most fans wishing for it to happen. This was the season it finally looked like the Clippers would play him consistently, and he even started in three games for the Clippers, but it wasn't for long.

From 2014-2019, Covington was a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. It's where he spent the best years of his career, and he no doubt already has a community waiting for him there. If there was a team Covington would want to be traded to, the Philadelphia 76ers would have to be towards the top of the list.

Even though Robert Covington didn't play anywhere near as much as he'd like to on the Clippers, he was still one of the better culture setters on the team that players will miss.
