Victor Wembanyama has had a phenomenal rookie season, as he has lived up to the lofty expectations set when he first got drafted. As a result, veteran Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green has returned to warn the league of “The Alien.”
Draymond Green picked Wemby as his favorite young player currently plying his trade in the NBA due to his impact on both the game’s offensive and defensive ends. He went further to call him an elite player.
My favorite young player in the league right now I mean, don't we all love the thought of what Wemby can possibly become? And the I love most about Wemby is he does it on both ends. Affects the game in an elite way on both sides of the ball. Somebody said something last week like, "How scary is it that this is the worst season of Wemby's career?"... If Wemby never grows offensively, he's already an all-star NBA player. Draymond Green said on his podcast

There’s no doubt that Victor Wembanyama is doing an excellent job for the Spurs despite their terrible season. According to Green, the league should really be afraid of a prime Wemby. It’s not the first time Green has praised him, as he had led the appreciation on multiple occasions, the most notable being the DPOY shout.
He demonstrated his fear factor when he helped the Spurs win a comeback against the defending champions last night, in which he scored 17 points in three minutes. A performance like that has led veterans like Green to continue praising the rookie.
Victor Wembanyama had a night to remember as he led the San Antonio Spurs to a dramatic comeback 121-120 win against the Denver Nuggets. He finished the game with an impressive 34 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and two blocks. The reason why he keeps receiving the flowers he’s getting is because of outings like these.

However, Wemby is out for the Spurs’ regular-season finale against the Detroit Pistons after it was reported he suffered a stress reaction in his right foot. No shades to the Pistons, but they could use a breather as they draw a curtain to their abysmal season.
He is a strong contender for Rookie of the Season and is expected to win it outrightly. Furthermore, he ends his rookie season with 1522 points, 755 rebounds, 274 assists, 254 blocks, and 128 3-pointers. Wemby is the only player in NBA history with 1500+ PTS, 250+ BLK, and 100+ 3PT in a single season.
