Watch: Grizzlies’ Marcus Smart dishes out one of the wildest assists you’ll see

Marcus Smart helped lead the Memphis Grizzlies to their second win of the season on Sunday night while Los Angeles Clippers and NBA fans alike are left scratching their heads at the brutal start of the James Harden era in L.A.. Along with his solid stat line, one specific play Smart made with under one minute remaining and the Grizzlies up just one was arguably one of the most impressive and clutch assists in recent memory.

As seen below, Smart had the ball poked away and fell to the floor afterward, but in essentially one fluid motion, used his forward momentum to tap the ball with his left hand over to the right and then flip it while still on the floor to a cutting teammate in forward David Roddy, who finished with a layup.

The play wasn't just incredibly impressive to see, it also may have saved the game for the Grizzlies and completely saved what would have been a huge momentum-changing moment for the Clippers.

Memphis handed the Clippers their fourth consecutive loss of the post-Harden trade era, while also reminding everyone of the type of game-changing potential Smart can put on display. The 29-year-old finished the night with 17 points on 5-of-12 shooting while knocking down 3-of-7 attempts from beyond the arc. He also had seven assists and three rebounds over 36 minutes.
