Arizona Cardinals’ Draft Moves and Remaining Picks
Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

After selecting two premier players in the first round, WR Marvin Harrison Jr. at #4 overall, and defensive lineman Darius Robinson at #27 overall, the Arizona Cardinals executed their first trade of the 2024 NFL Draft to begin day 2.

In a deal with the Falcons, Arizona traded away their 35th (2nd round) and 186th overall picks (6th round) to acquire the 79th overall (2nd round) and 79th overall picks (3rd round).

The Cardinals will now possess five picks on Friday night, barring any further trades. Four of these picks are slated for the 3rd round.

Unfortunately for Arizona, top cornerbacks Cooper DeJean and Kool-Aid McKinstry were chosen at the 40th and 41st overall picks, respectively. Cornerbacks are arguably the Cardinals’ most urgent requirement, particularly with Harrison Jr. now on the team, addressing their wide receiver needs.

Another position worth keeping an eye on is offensive linemen.

In a press conference after a successful day 1, GM Monti Ossenfort explained, “I feel really good. I feel really good. Yeah – we still have some players we really like up on the board. What I would say is, I think our options are going to be plentiful for teams that are interested in coming up to us, too.”

Overall, the Cardinals still have nine picks remaining in their hands.
