The breaking coaching news on Saturday morning may not have been the hite Browns' fans are desperate for, but Cleveland did make an addition to its coaching staff.

According to muktiple reports, the Browns officially hired Jacques Cesaire to join Kevin Stefanski's staff as defensive line coach.

Cesaire comes to Cleveland from Houston where he was the Defensive Line coach for the Texans in 2023. After Houston's loss to Baltimore, the Texans decided to not renew Cesaire's contract and it didnt take him long to find a new home.

Coaching the Browns' defensive line is any football coach's dream. Cleveland significantly improved the entire position group the past offseason support Myles Garrett. It paid major dividends as the Browns defense became one if the top units in football. Now Cesaire has an opportunity to leave his imprint on the group, particularly up front.

Prior to spending two seasons coaching the Texans, Cesaire got his coaching career started with a two-year stint in Buffalo.

Cesaire's football experience doesn't stop there.

In 2003, Cesaire signed with the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free-agent at defensive end. Cesaire's playing career lasted untio 2011 when he decided to hang up the cleats for good.

In his nine seasons, he appeared in 125 games for the Chargers tallying 220 tackles, 18 for loss and 12.5 total sacks.

As a coach, 2023 was his best season. While leading the defensive line, the Texans tallied 47 sacks on the year and were led by Jonathan Greenard who had 12.5 of them opposite of rookie Will Anderson who had seven.

Cesaire will take over a team that had 49 sacks on the year, paced by Garrett's 14.
