Cowboys defense putting NFL on notice: 'We ain't taking s--- from nobody'

During the final day of padded practice on Wednesday, the Dallas Cowboys defense made it count.

Multiple fights sprung out with several heated exchanges between the offensive and defensive lines with Pro Bowl center Tyler Biadasz at the center of the two biggest brawls of the day, drawing the ire of All-Pro edge-rusher Micah Parsons and defensive end Sam Williams.

While many will likely attribute Wednesday’s scraps to the throes of training camp, the Cowboys defenders are telling a different story.

“We ain't taking no s--- from nobody,” safety Jayron Kearse told reporters. “All 32 teams…we ain't taking s--- from nobody. Whether it's our offense or the next offense. We're trying to show we're the best in the business, so it gets spicy out here, it's going to get spicy on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays; whenever we line up, that's how we're going to come."

Biadasz got into his first scrap after coming to the defense of fellow offensive lineman Brock Hoffman, who was about to be charged after the whistle by Williams. The 25-year-old center came flying in from out of nowhere, knocking Williams to the ground with a fierce shove that incited a sideline-clearing brawl that was ultimately broken up by defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.

Moments later, Biadasz drew the ire of All-Pro edge-rusher Micah Parsons, who unleashed a series of punches at the former’s head, before Williams got his revenge and bulldozed Biadasz from his blindside. Parsons chalked it up to exacting a bit of tough love.

“I don't care who I'm up against,” Parsons said. “I don't care if it's (left tackle) Tyron (Smith), if it's (left guard) Zack (Martin), if it's (right tackle) Tyler Smith — I'm going to beat the hell out of them. It's only going to make them better. … This is where championships get started — right here in camp. The goal is to bring that out, and the camaraderie, to bring it all together. It's only one goal at the end of the day."
