Cowboys OT Jason Peters (chest) doubtful vs. Rams
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Veteran offensive tackle Jason Peters is listed as doubtful and likely won't play for the Dallas Cowboys when they visit the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

The Cowboys said Friday that Peters sustained a chest injury in practice and will undergo an MRI to determine the exact injury. The Cowboys signed the 40-year-old in early September to provide depth along the offensive line.

Since he missed training camp, the Cowboys have been bringing Peters along slowly. In his first game in Dallas, he played 14 snaps in Week 3 and 21 in Week 4. With the Rams up next, he would have been called on to try to keep Rams star Aaron Donald in check.

Peters, a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time All-Pro, is in his 18th season. He previously played for the Buffalo Bills (2004-08), Philadelphia Eagles (2009-20) and Chicago Bears.

The Cowboys (3-1) visit the Eagles next week in an NFC East clash.
